BREVARD COUNTY • SATELLITE BEACH, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and Satellite Beach Police Department have identified Catherine Gachet Looby of Melbourne as the dead woman discovered on Friday morning by a construction worker in Satellite Beach.

According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Department, Looby’s body was found early Friday morning behind a building under construction on Shell Street in Satellite Beach.

Crime scene investigators are expected to be at the scene for several days collecting evidence as authorities investigate the case as a homicide.

Looby’s vehicle, a silver 2012 Toyota Camry, was located in the area. Investigators are asking anyone who might have seen Looby or her vehicle to contact them.

Police Investigate Suspicious Death In Satellite Beach

The Satellite Beach Police Department is currently on scene in the 700 block of Shell Street investigating a suspicious death. (See map below)

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is assisting in the investigation.

According to the Satellite Beach Police Department, detectives are confident that this incident is not related to the incident that occurred yesterday at Glenwood and Kale.

Police are asking people to avoid the area of Shell Street as there is a heavy police presence.
