Shaffer Attends Water Polo Olympic Coaching Camp

Brevard County Water Polo Coach Andrea Shaffer was selected for a full Coach’s Scholarship for the USA Water Polo Olympic Development Program (ODP) Training Camp.
The camp was conducted at the prestigious U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
For one week last December, Shaffer got the unique opportunity to learn the USAWP’s Olympic training methods and standards with America’s best, young female water polo players.
“This was such a great honor and once in a lifetime opportunity for me,” said Shaffer.
“I was able to learn from the United States’ best coaches and bring that knowledge back to Brevard.
“It will help us align our coaching methods with the ODP and also help us spot and nurture potential Olympic talent.
“The best part was working with the amazing athletes including a 2012 Water Polo Olympic Gold Medalist, the U.S. Youth National Coach, the U.S. Junior National Team and our country’s best young players,” said Shaffer.
