Small College Football Coaches Converge On Brevard

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Small-college football coaches from all over the country converged in Brevard on Wednesday for the Brevard County Recruiting Fair.

Merritt Island High School football and the Mustang Quarterback Club sponsored the event at Kiwanis Island.

MIHS Assistant Coach Andrew Disney, who coordinated the fair, said, “There were student-athletes from Brevard County, Volusia County and Putnam County.

“This part of Florida not only has a rich pool of athletic talent and traditionally strong football programs, but also student-athletes soundly prepared academically. It also fits in well with other small college recruiting fairs being held in other parts of Florida.”

High school coaches presented their college counterparts with player videos and transcripts in the morning sessions. In the afternoon, local student-athletes from 17 high schools met with the prospective college coaches.
