Aaron_Hernandez-trial-delayed-snowFALL RIVER, MA — Heavy snowfall delayed the murder trial of Former Florida Gators and New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez.

According to a state courts spokesperson cited by ESPN, Hernandez’s trial is expected to resume Tuesday, Feb. 3. Hernandez was one of many standout athletes on the Florida Gators’ 2008 championship team, coached by Urban Meyer. During his time at the University of Florida, Hernandez was known for drug-related problems off the field.  In recent years, Meyer’s handling of Hernandez and other players on the championship team has been criticized by other coaches and students alike.

Hernandez is charged in the killing of  his fiancee’s sister Odin Lloyd.

Hernandez’s lawyer has said the men were friends and Hernandez had no reason to kill Lloyd.
