More Than $1 Million Already Reflected In Cocoa Beach Pier Restoration and Enhancements
BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Westgate Resorts lit up a new, 27-foot tall sign as the iconic, welcoming centerpiece for guests at the new Cocoa Beach Pier.
The “Light Up the Pier” event was held Wednesday with the Illumination ceremony and a community celebration party.
Designated a historic landmark, the sign is a nostalgic tribute to the Pier and the Space Coast’s history, for which the original 50-year-old sign was the design inspiration.
The Cocoa Beach Pier has been an iconic Brevard County beach destination since 1962.
A significant milestone in Westgate’s multi-million dollar Cocoa Beach Pier improvement program, the sign is among several renovations planned to protect the legacy of the Pier and make it a premier dining and entertainment destination for residents and tourists.
Pier upgrades will feature the introduction of several of Westgate’s unique dining concepts, including the award-wining Drafts Sports Bar and a new fine dining seafood concept.
The entire project is expected to be completed by the end of 2015.
More than $1 million is already reflected in Pier restoration and enhancements.
Westgate Resorts CEO David Siegel, COO Mark Waltrip, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing Jim Gissy, other Westgate executives and members of the community were in attendance.
