BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida’s baseball team improved to 16-14 on the season on Wednesday with a 13-1 victory over Elev8 Academy at Bruce Bochy Field.

Christian Diaz went 3-for-3 for Eastern Florida while Luis Silverio went 2-for-3 with four runs batted in.

Next up for Eastern Florida is a Saturday home game with FCSAA Southern Conference foe Indian River State.

Eastern Florida Golfers Come Up Short Twice

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Tuesday was a down day for Eastern Florida’s golf team.

The Titans split up to play two matches, finishing 12th in the 20th Annual Embry-Riddle Eagle Invitational and dropping a one-day match with NCAA Division III Guilford College of North Carolina.

At Embry-Riddle Michael Keymont shot 75 to finish at 227, tied for 32nd; Dalton Bartlett shot 74 for 228, tied for 37th; Lorenzo Bolivar shot 83 for 234, tied for 68th; Corey Herman shot 73 to finish at 238, tied for 79th; and Alex Blue shot 84 for 240, tied for 85th.

As a team Eastern Florida shot a 54-hole total of 918.

Coastal Georgia won the team title with at 867. Coastal Georgia’s Allen Bradford was individual medalist at 213.

Playing at the Rockledge Country Club, Guilford edged Eastern Florida 290-293.

Mickey DeMorat and Drew Cooke both shot 71 for Eastern Florida to tie Guilford’s Drew Thompson for medalist honors.

Kerry Sweeney shot 75 while Brad Gray and Aaron Giles shot 76.

“It was a very good golf course and good competition for the team,” Eastern Florida head coach Jamie Howell said of the Embry-Riddle tournament.

“We will go into spring break ready for a good rest and resume in Miami (at Barry University) in two weeks (March 30-31).”

Sella Wins Again but Eastern Florida Tennis Falls 8-1

Isabella Sella won her fifth singles match in a row, but the Eastern Florida State College women’s tennis team lost on the road to Florida State College at Jacksonville 8-1 in a Florida College System Activities Association/NJCAA Region 8 match on Friday.

Sella defeated Efrosina Kariqi 6-3, 6-3 to improve to 9-1 on the season.

The Titans, who set a program record for wins in their previous match against Hillsborough Community College, fell to 4-6 on the year.

Alexandra Andrews also played well for EFSC, going three sets against Krista Tyson before eventually losing 3-6, 6-2, 10-3.

The closest doubles match came at the No. 1 spot, where Sella and Linn Sorman lost to Olivia Rolle and Michelle Chemaly 8-4.

EFSC will be off next week for spring break. The Titans are set to return to action on April 1 against Bethune-Cookman in Daytona Beach at 3:30 p.m.
