BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida’s baseball team scored an important Florida College System Activities Association Southern Conference victory on Saturday, beating Indian River State 6-4 in Fort Pierce.

Eastern Florida improved to 7-6 in the conference and 17-14 overall, projecting itself back into the race for a top-two finish and a automatic qualification for the NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA Tournament.

Indian River fell to 2-11 and 9-19.

Righty Dulvis Borjas picked up the win for Eastern Florida. Alec Lamrouex got the save.

Brandon Gomez and Derek Deler had two runs batted in apiece, both on doubles.

Eastern Florida had six hits to seven for Indian River and committed one error to two for the hosts.

The teams meet again at 6 p.m. Monday at Bruce Bochy Field in a game that was postponed on Friday.
