BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – After twirling seven innings of shutout baseball in Florida Tech’s 11-0 rout of Florida Southern last Tuesday, Panthers’ freshman starting pitcher Ty Cohen has been nabbed the Sunshine State Conference Pitcher of the Week.

In just his third career outing, and first against a SSC opponent, the righty held scoreless a Mocs’ club that entered averaging a shade under 11 runs per contest.

Cohen scattered four singles and fanned six, all while tossing an ultra-efficient 71 pitches in the impressive outing.

With the ‘W’ Cohen has now improved to 2-0 on the season, allowing just six hits and one earned run spanning his last 13 innings of work.
