“We wanted to open a restaurant for a long time but were seriously looking for about a year. We finally found the perfect location (Alma’s Italian restaurant that had been in business for 40 years)..We feel that a restaurant not only has to put the best possible product but also have impeccable service and we stand behind that one hundred percent. We base a lot of our restaurant on teamwork, so don’t be surprised if you have multiple servers throughout your meal. Every employee will do their best to meet all the needs of every customer, from a special menu request to helping an elderly person out the door.
We also value community and charities. Slow & Low participates in many community events, school activities and to help the less fortunate. Slow & Low is involved in many advertisements for Cocoa Beach High School to help fund after school activities. We also sponsor three different sports teams to date.”

4. Memaw’s BBQ – Indian Harbour Beach & Palm Bay
Memaw’s BBQ in Palm Bay boasts a unique flavor and appearance the founders credit to a 40-year old recipe. Meemaw’s dips its meats into a secret basting sauce then slow cook over an open pit of hickory and oak. The heat of the pit is controlled by spraying fire with water.
“Not only does our BBQ have a unique flavor, you’ll notice it has a different appearance than ordinary oven-roasted meat. Our pork, due to the smoking process, has a tendency to be pinkish in color and the chicken may be reddish around the thigh bone, even though it is done, Finally, our secret basting sauce turns dark brown in color at the final stages of smoking, adding to the true Bar-B-Q flavor of the meat. Add plenty of your favorite choice of our secret Bar-B-Q sauces at the table and you’ll get your very own experience of our special BBQ.”
