Titusville police investigators are on scene of a fatal hit and run crash that occurred at about 8:12 p.m. on U.S. 1, a quarter mile south of Cheney Highway in Titusville.

UPDATE: March 6, 2015

The Titusville Police Department issued a statement that they have recovered a silver sedan with extensive damage to the driver side.

Investigators are still actively processing the vehicle to determine if this sedan is in fact the vehicle involved in the deadly hit and run crash.

At this point in the investigation police are confident there are people who have information that can assist investigators in this case.

The Titusville Police Department has identified the victim of a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred at about 8:12 p.m. Thursday as 56-year old Ralston Wade Wells.

Titusville police officers responded to a call Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at 2197 Harrison Street because a man was armed with a handgun.

According to witnesses, the sedan that collided with Wells’ motorcycle was seen exiting the Kennedy Point Park located at 4915 South Washington (US 1) just prior to the collision. (See map below)

According to police, the sedan exited Kennedy Point Park, entered the northbound travel lanes of U.S. 1, and the motorcycle and sedan collided.

Motorcyclist Killed In Hit and Run Crash In Titusville 

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville police investigators are on the scene of a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred at about 8:12 p.m. Thursday on U.S. 1, a quarter mile south of Cheney Highway in Titusville.

According to the Titusville Police Department, they received a 911 call in reference to a hit-and-run incident that involved a motorcycle and a sedan.

After the vehicles collided, the driver of the sedan failed to stop and departed the accident scene, according to police.

The sole occupant of the motorcycle was ejected, and was pronounced dead at a local area hospital.

According to the Titusville Police Department, based on evidence at the scene, police describe the sedan as silver in color with damage to the driver side of the vehicle.

At this point in the investigation, police are not releasing the name of the victim pending notification of next-of-kin.
