Detectives with the Major Case Unit are working in conjunction with the Palm Bay Fire Marshal and the State Fire Marshal to investigate the cause and origin of a fire in which a woman and an infant were killed early Friday.

According to police, just before 9 a.m., emergency dispatchers received a 911 call from a Waste Management employee working his route reporting smoke coming from a home in the 2800 block of Foxglove Avenue SW.

When firefighters arrived they confirmed smoke coming from the home and  located two victims inside.

Firefighters and paramedics immediately began resuscitation efforts but the victims were later pronounced deceased on scene.

The fire was quickly extinguished and no other victims were located.

The investigation is ongoing and updates will be released when available.

Two Die In Friday Morning Palm Bay House Fire

PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay Fire Rescue is on scene of structure fire involving at least two victims, according to according to the Palm Bay Police Department.

An adult female and an infant were found dead after a house fire broke out about 9 a.m. in Palm Bay Friday morning in the 2800 block of Foxglove Avenue SW.

According to Palm Bay Fire Rescue, a Waste Management employee saw smoke coming from the house and called authorities.

Despite paramedics’ attempts to resuscitate the victims, both were pronounced dead at the  scene.

The State Fire Marshal’s office and Palm Bay Police, are now investigating the cause of the fatal blaze.

Authorities have not release the names of the victims.
