BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A rollover crash at about 12 noon killed a Merritt Island woman and closed southbound I-95 north of Wickham Road for six hours Wednesday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, all three vehicles collided, and Susan Bartholomay was killed in the crash. She was taken to Viera hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The crash, combined with the heavy traffic of a 1 p.m. Washington Nationals baseball game, snarled traffic in central and south Brevard for most of the day.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Jeffrey Suter, 58, of Titusville was traveling southbound on I-95 in the left lane driving a Toyota pick up truck.

At the same time, Roger Bartholomay, 76, and Susan Bartholomay, 66, of Merritt Island were traveling southbound on I-95, in the center lane in a 2013 Hyundai.

In the right lane, Alesia Williams, 51, of North Carolina, was traveling southbound on I-95, operating a semi truck.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, all three vehicles collided, and Susan Bartholomay was killed in the crash. She was taken to Viera hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Suter was taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. Roger Bartholomay was also taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. Williams was transported to Viera Hospital with minor injuries.

At this time, Troopers are still investigating the chain of events in this crash.

CRASH: I-95 South Shut Down, One Fatality Reported

BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA – I-95 southbound lanes have been shut down as a result rollover vehicle crash with injuries, just north of the Wickham Road exit at Mile Marker 192.

FHP-TRAFFIC-FATALITY-180The crash involved a pickup truck and another vehicle.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, three victims were taken to the hospital, and according to a Brevard County Sheriff’s Deputy on scene, there is one fatality.

Traffic is being rerouted on to US 1, and drivers can take Exit 201 for State Road 520 and take a left, then a right on Fiske Boulevard to I-95.
