California ‘Psychic’ Arrested For Preying On Brevard Resident

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Economics Crime Task Force, with the assistance of the Los Angeles County, California Fugitive Unit arrested 24-year-old Anna Marie Adams on April 13 for an outstanding Brevard County warrant that included Exploitation of the Elderly, Scheme to Defraud and Criminal Use of Personal Identification.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Economics Crime Task Force, with the assistance of the Los Angeles County, California Fugitive Unit, arrested 24-year-old Anna Marie Adams on April 13 for an outstanding Brevard County warrant that included Exploitation of the Elderly, Scheme to Defraud and Criminal Use of Personal Identification.

According to investigators, the suspect claimed to be a psychic and lived in Los Angeles who had become friends with a Brevard County resident that visited California in the spring of 2013.

When the victim returned to Brevard, Adams continued to communicate with the victim through telephone conversations and text messages.

Adams started preying on the victim’s vulnerability due to age and serious medical conditions.

The suspect, Adams, was able to exploit more than $220,000 from the victim by promising she could win money, lose weight and remove a spell that had allegedly been placed on the victim’s children, according to investigators.

The investigation revealed that Adams had used the victim’s personal information to purchase a BMW 640i valued at more than $93,000.

Adams is currently incarcerated in the Los Angeles County jail awaiting extradition back to Brevard County.
