BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech’s Jordan Carlock has been named the Sunshine State Conference Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week, announced on Monday by the SSC Office.
This is Carlock’s second time being selected for the honor.
The Babylon, New York product was a force against an offensive-minded Fighting Knights squad on Friday, April 3 in Boca Raton. FIT defeated Lynn 11-8 with the help of Carlock’s four caused turnovers and three ground balls.
Carlock led a Panthers defense that held the Fighting Knights to their second lowest scoring output of the season. The defense also kept Lynn’s top three scorers in check throughout the contest, only allowing a combined one goal from the trio.
The senior has started all 12 games for the Crimson and Gray this season. Carlock leads the Panthers with 44 caused turnovers and is second on the team with 34 ground balls. His 44 caused turnovers is tops in all NCAA divisions and his 3.67 forced turnovers per game ranks second in Division II.
Carlock and the rest of the Panthers’ seniors will be honored during Florida Tech’s Senior Night against SSC foe Florida Southern on Saturday, April 11 at 7 p.m. at Palm Bay High School’s Pirate Stadium.
