UPDATE: April 22, 2014 – 2:15 P.m.

Paul Zembreski, 33, of Cocoa was killed this morning in the crash at State Road 520 and Cocoa Water Plant Road.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Zembreski was traveling westbound on State Road 520 driving a 1999 Dodge pickup truck.

Barbara Kalevich, 57, of Orlando was traveling eastbound on State Road 520 when Zembreski attempted to make a left turn onto Cocoa Water Plant Road, turning into the direct path of Kalevich.

After the initial collision, Zembreski was ejected. He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to FHP.

Kalevich was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center where she is listed in serious condition.

This crash remains under investigation.

FATAL CRASH SHUTS DOWN SR 520 NEAR BREVARD COUNTY LINE

CHRISTMAS, FLORIDA – The Florida Highway Patrol is on the scene of a fatal crash at State Road 520 near Cocoa Water Plant Road on the Brevard/Orange County line. (See map below)

The accident occurred at about 7 a.m. and FHP was dispatched at 7:36 a.m.

East bound State Road 520 is shut down and FHP is diverting traffic onto State Road 528. The west bound lanes are open.
