The Florida Highway Patrol has identified Richard Angel, 55, as the Sebastian man killed in the single vehicle crash in Micco early Thursday morning. 

FHP also identified the driver as John Palmer, 38, of Rockledge, who was taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

Sebastian Man Killed In Single Vehicle Crash In Micco Thursday Morning

BREVARD COUNTY • MICCO, FLORIDA – A yet to be identified 55-year old Sebastian man who was a passenger was killed in an auto crash early Thursday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to FHP, the driver was traveling northbound on Fleming Grant Road at a high rate of speed, failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and crashed off the road into a ditch.

The victim died on scene and Troopers are still waiting to confirm what time the crash happened.

According to FHP, a passerby found the vehicle, a Nissan Maxima, in the ditch at 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, but the crash may have been there longer.

The driver, a 38-year old man from Rockledge, has not been identified by authorities. He was taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

Neither man was wearing a seatbelt, according to FHP.

This crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
