From Wednesday, April 1, to Thursday, April 30, Brevard County residents can cast votes to help one of three county park projects capture $20,000 in grant funding for improvements.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – In the first week of voting for the Parks Build Community Project, the National Recreation and Parks Association sent out an email informing the 15 communities involved of the top three locations with the most project votes. Brevard County is currently at No. 2.

The Brevard County projects are:

• Bernice Jackson / Walter Butler Soccer Field in Sharpes

• EEL Program’s Sams House Nature Pavilion at Pine Island Conservation Area on Merritt Island

• Wickham Park Community Garden in Melbourne

Park supporters can vote daily for their favorite park project. At the end of April the project with the most votes will receive the grant funding.

Here’s how the national votes stack up to this point:
1. Philadelphia
2. Brevard County
3. Seattle
