BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – On Thursday, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office along with agencies from around the county participated in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run, which ended with a Softball game and celebration at the Space Coast Stadium to help raise money for the Special Olympics Florida.

The Special Olympics transforms lives through sports everyday.

They are the world’s largest sports organization for people with intellectual disabilities and they serve 26,000 athletes with help from 19,000 dedicated volunteers.

I would like to thank everyone who came to participate in the different legs of the Torch Run, everyone from our agency who helped with Thursday’s events, the Space Coast Stadium Staff, everyone from Special Olympics Florida for their support and Corporal Dave Jacobs from our agency for all of his planning which made today so successful.
