A 42-year-old Cocoa man was killed in a single vehicle incident at about 8:15 p.m. Sunday night at US 1 and Williams Point Boulevard.

The Florida Highway Patrol identified the victim in the fatal incident as Christopher Watt, 42, of Cocoa.

Man Killed In Single Vehicle Incident In Sharpes

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A 42-year-old Cocoa man was killed in a single vehicle incident at about 8:15 p.m. Sunday night at US 1 and Williams Point Boulevard. (See map below)

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the victim was traveling southbound on US 1 driving a 2002 Ford pickup truck when the tire tread separated and the driver lost control. The vehicle overturned on the median and the victim was ejected.

The pickup truck came to a rest in the northbound shoulder of US 1, on its side.

The victim’s identity has not been released pending next of kin notification.

It is unknown at this time if the victim was wearing a seatbelt and the crash remains under investigation.
