Man Robs Bank, Claims To Have HIV Hypodermic Needle

The Indian Harbour Beach Police responded to a reported bank robbery today at 9:39 a.m. at BB&T Bank, located at 450 E. Eau Gallie Boulevard in Indian Harbour Beach.

BREVARD COUNTY • INDIAN HARBOUR BEACH – The Indian Harbour Beach Police responded to a reported bank robbery today at 9:39 a.m. at BB&T Bank, located at 450 E. Eau Gallie Boulevard in Indian Harbour Beach.

The white male suspect said he was HIV positive, claimed to have a hypodermic needle and threaten to infect bank personnel if his demands for money were not met.

The bank teller complied and the suspect fled the area in a grey Pontiac Grand Am.

Officers quickly responded and set a perimeter and spotted the suspect, Daryl Wayne Mollett, 29, of 3723 Runyon Drive of Chipley Florida, in a parking lot on Eau Gallie and Pineapple Street.

Mollett attempted to flee on foot but officers were able to apprehend him and all money stolen from the bank was recovered.

Mollett also had an outstanding warrant reference robbery.

Mollett was booked into Brevard County jail and charged with Robbery.
