BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA — City of Cocoa’s Fire Department is excited to announce they have conducted a final inspection of the new ladder truck, Tower 31.

CITY-OF-COCOA-SEAL-FULLCocoa Fire is committed to providing the city with the highest quality service and safety.

With the addition of the new Tower 31 to Cocoa Fire, the fire department is ready and prepared to fight fire and perform rescues.

The new truck is custom made by Stuphen, a company that has been making fire apparatus since 1890.

The truck safely carries up to six firefighters and has a 100 foot ladder with a platform for firefighting and making rescues.

There is a full compliment of ground ladders and hose.

The new ladder truck will be housed at Fire Station 1 and will be able to respond to all call types in the City, with a full compliment of Advanced Life Support (ALS) medical and trauma gear.

The truck was funded through the recent increase in fire assessment fees.

Cocoa Fire expects to take delivery of the new tower/ladder at the end of March and host a public apparatus housing ceremony on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 5:30 p.m. at Fire Station 1.
