Weather Conditions Hold Up Florida Tech Tennis

With Florida Tech (12-8, 1-4 SSC) leading 3-0 after a doubles sweep, play between the Panthers and Tampa (9-8, 0-6 SSC) was halted Sunday afternoon at Fee Avenue Park due to a thunderstorm roaming through the Space Coast.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – With Florida Tech (12-8, 1-4 SSC) leading 3-0 after a doubles sweep, play between the Panthers and Tampa (9-8, 0-6 SSC) was halted Sunday afternoon at Fee Avenue Park due to a thunderstorm roaming through the Space Coast.

FIT took care of business in doubles competition, collecting all three possible points.

Natasa Vukovic and Chloe Chanley took the point at No. 1 over Kristen Mee and Kelsey Matthews 8-6, while Kayla Hergott and Erin Egoroff made quick work of Gianna Pinasco and Emily Hewland 8-1.

Meritt Rabson and Mariana Castaneiras were in a battle against Cameron Moskol and Jenelle Morgan, with the Panther duo coming out victorious 9-8 (7-4).

The match will be resumed on Saturday at 10 a.m. in Winter Park, Florida prior to FIT facing off against Rollins at 1 a.m.

The competition between the Panthers and Spartans will be called after one of the two teams achieves a match clinching fifth point.
