BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Teri Witzel of Christa McAuliffe Elementary in Palm Bay was recently honored by Brevard Public Schools as the April super hero of the month.

Witzel has led efforts to help with the financial burdens the school’s Assistant Principal, Tracy Chancery has been dealing with.

Chancery has been been out on sick leave since October awaiting a heart transplant.

Witzel had all of the school staff members attend a barbecue lunch on the weekend as a fundraiser. She was able to raise over $12,000.

“I wanted to something to help out Ms. Chancery and will continue to do things for Ms. Chancery,” said Witzel.
