BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Head coach Steve Englehart and his staff will host the inaugural Florida Tech Football Offshore Fishing Tournament presented by FrogBones Family Shooting Center, announced on Thursday.

“This is a great opportunity to raise some money for the football team here at Florida Tech,” said Englehart.

“It’s a good way to get people involved that maybe haven’t been involved previously at Florida Tech, whether that be from an athletics standpoint or just involved in general.”

Tournament weekend will kick off with a captain’s party, sponsored by Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Audi of Melbourne, on Friday, May 29 at its dealership on 509 East NASA Blvd. in Melbourne.

The tournament is scheduled for Saturday, May 30 with the official weigh-in at 4 p.m. at the boat ramp at Jetty Park in Cape Canaveral.

“We’re excited, I think it’s going to be a fun couple of days,” said Englehart.

“I’ve never participated in an offshore fishing tournament so we still have a lot of work left to get all squared away but I’m excited for what’s to come.”
