BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Join more than 40 pro teams for the fifth Annual, FBA-Sanctioned BBQ and Blues, Pro BBQ Competition, set for June 5 and 6.
This event is now a World Food Championship BBQ Qualifier as well as an American Royal Invitational, Sonny’s Smokin’ Showdown Invitational and Jack Daniel’s World Championship qualifier.
Returning sponsors for 2015 include Brighthouse Networks, Sublime Restaurant and Sangria Lounge, Craig Technologies, Econolodge Port Canaveral Area and Visit Space Coast.
This year, CH2MHill and will be joining the sponsor lineup.
BBQ and Blues kicks off Friday afternoon with live music on the Sublime Stage at Riverfront Park featuring local Blues Man Joe “Survival” Caruso followed by The Joey Gilmore Blues Band and a Pub Crawl through Historic Cocoa Village brought to you by MadHatterPromotions.com.
On Saturday, Riverfront Park will be smokin’ with hot BBQ in the park and cool blues on the CH2MHill stage.
Our lineup for Saturdayincludes local “one-man-band” Matt Rosman, The Pitbull of Blues, Sarasota Slim, Eryn Shewell and headlining this year is 2013 International Blues Challenge Solo Winner and 2013 International Blues Challenge “Best Solo/Duo Guitarist,” Little G Weevil and his band.
Also not to be missed are the People’s Choice judging at 11 a.m. Saturday, the Kids Fun Zone, various street entertainers, a vendor village showcasing the work of talented local artists and crafters, and of course the 5 p.m. awards ceremony to honor the very tastiest in Florida BBQ.
And what about the food? A dozen BBQ vendors will be on hand to delight you with their culinary delights.
Admission to this great event is free and partial proceeds go toward supporting music in schools through Brevard Schools Foundation.
