BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Rockledge Little League Major softball team had an 11-1 victory over the Mims’ Little League in 4 innings at the McKnight Family Sports Complex.

The second game of the best-2-out-of-3 series will be played Sunday at 1:00pm.

Over at Port St. John’s Space Coast Communities Sports Complex, there were two more games in the Major baseball division. Merritt Island Little League met Indian River City Little League. For Indian River City, J. Woodward and H. Nguyen had stolen bases.

But, it wasn’t enough as Merritt Island’s T. Goforth had 2 doubles and J. Raucci hit a ground rule double in the 4th to cap off Merritt Island’s 18-0 win in 4 innings.

In other Major baseball action, Mims’ Little League met Space Coast Little League. For Mims, D. Rubio had a 2-run shot and Space Coast’s A. Pryzgoda hit a solo homer.

In the end, Space Coast won 13-3 in 5 innings.

Over in Junior baseball at Space Coast Communities Sports Complex, Port St. John Little League’s W. Dickson went 3-for-4, but Mims Little League’s T. Woodruff hit a triple in his team’s 14-6 victory in 6 1/2 innings.

In the other Junior baseball game, North Merritt Island Little League locked horns with Indian River City Little League.

North Merritt Island’s J. Huber had 4 singles and B. Perry had 3 singles. J. Smith had 3 hits for Indian River City and when the dust settled after 6 1/2 innings, Indian River City had hung on to an 8-6 victory.

Major and Junior baseball divisions are off tomorrow, but play will resume for them on Monday night.
