Man Shot During Altercation In Cocoa Beach Early Saturday Morning

Shawn Huffman, 31, of Edgewater, was rescued from the ocean at Alan Shepard Park, 200 E. Cocoa Beach Causeway, in a joint effort by Cocoa Beach Police/Fire and the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.
The Cocoa Beach Police Department is investigating a shooting occurred between the two roommates, resulting in one man shooting the other, according to Cocoa Beach police.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – The Cocoa Beach Police Department is investigating a shooting occurred between the two roommates, resulting in one man shooting the other, according to Cocoa Beach police. 

Officers responded to 125 Pulsipher Avenue early Saturday morning at 2:40 a.m. regarding the shooting that had just occurred inside unit #200.  

Upon interviewing the individuals involved, and examining evidence at the scene, it is believed that the shooting was the result of an altercation between the two men. 

The victim was airlifted to an area hospital in stable condition.  The suspected shooter was detained for questioning by investigators. 

No charges have been filed at this time.
