On Thursday night, the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a semi-truck accident with a 2006 Ford-250 Truck hauling an RV trailer on I-95 and CR 516.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – On Thursday night, the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a semi-truck collision with a 2006 Ford-250 truck hauling an RV trailer on I-95 and CR 516.

The driver of the semi truck was Adrian Andranowski, 23, from Staten Island, New Jersey, who suffered minor injuries.

The driver and passenger of the F-250 Truck were Palm Bay residents Richard Lee, 74, and passenger Sarah Lee, 62, and neither were injured.

All motorists were wearing their seat belts.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the semi was trailing the Ford pickup as the two were traveling southbound on the outside lane of I-95.

Later, traffic slowed down in front of the pickup but the semi did not slow down and struck the trailer being pulled by the F-250. As a result, the trailer ‘jackknifed’ on impact, according to FHP.

The trailer overturned onto its side causing the pickup to spin around facing on-coming traffic.

The semi ended up pushing the trailer nearly 500 feet before it came to a complete stop which blocked all three southbound lanes on I-95.

The crash remains under investigation and charges against the semi truck driver are pending.
