THAILAND – A sea worm’s sickening tendrils have people questioning what it is, after video emerged of it squirting a membrane which moved over a man’s hand.

The creepy crawly, which resembles the sipuncula or peanut worm gave its unsuspecting captors a fright when they spotted it off the coast of Thailand recently.

A man holding the worm in his palm shrieks as its body contorts unnaturally before ejecting an elaborate system of sticky white roots.

Using its unique digestive tract which starts in the mouth, the peanut worm can shoot out anywhere between 18 and 24 tentacles, ensnaring predators and prey alike.
