BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — I had the privilege last week to recognize UPS Drivers Rubin “Ross” Brock and Brian Gotcher of the Palm Bay Distribution Center for being awarded the “Circle of Honor” through UPS Corporate Headquarters.

The “Circle of Honor” award goes to drivers that have worked as a UPS Driver for 25 years without an avoidable accident and is one of the most prestigious awards that is given by the company.

As part of our continued effort to keep Brevard County a safe place to call home our agency wanted to recognize Ross and Brian for such an incredible accomplishment and for reaching a level that very few drivers ever achieve.

I was also excited to hear about a new Safe Driving Campaign that UPS has initiated titled “Put It Down Brown” where the focus on safe driving by reminding their drivers to never text and drive or look at their deliver computers while operating a motor vehicle.

The campaign is a statewide initiative and while all of us don’t drive Brown Trucks we can certainly learn from the advice.
