NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The heat is on again today across east Central Florida with highs in the mid to upper 90s across the interior and lower 90s near the east coast.

Sea breeze boundaries moving into the interior may provide some relief from the heat in the form of scattered storms with locally heavy rain in the late afternoon and early evening.

A few strong to possibly severe storms may develop over the interior between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.

These storms will contain frequent lightning, strong and gusty winds and locally heavy rain. Head indoors when thunder is heard.
