ABOVE MAP: The Melbourne Police Department is investigating a hit and run crash in the area of Race Street and Horne Street on Saturday after a black SUV struck a child on a bicycle around 7 p.m.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Melbourne Police Department is investigating a hit and run crash in the area of Race Street and Horne Street on Saturday after a black SUV struck a child on a bicycle around 7 p.m.

The SUV fled the area but was located a short time later abandoned in the area of 823 Brothers Avenue.

The child was transported to the hospital by a relative and is currently listed in stable condition.

The child was transported to Arnold Palmer Hospital for further testing.

Law enforcement officials are investigating the case.CRIMELINE-200
