BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Whether it involved educating local school children in life-saving CPR or helping senior citizens check and install working smoke alarms in their homes Palm Bay Fire-Rescue personnel consistently made a positive difference in the community with its ongoing partnership with the American Red Cross.

The Space Coast Chapter recently recognized the fire department’s efforts by presenting it with the American Red Cross Community Spirit 2015 Award in recognition of significant humanitarian contribution to the Space Coast Chapter in support of the American Red Cross.

Fire-Rescue personnel with help from volunteers promote public safety and fire prevention with a variety of public education programs.

Through a partnership with the American Red Cross, firefighters are able to provide free smoke alarms to those identified as most at risk such as the elderly population living in manufactured homes.
