Sheriff’s Agents Arrest Rockledge Man For Traveling To Meet Minor For Sex

Agents with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Sexual Offender registration and Tracking (SORT) Unit have arrested 50-year-old Joseph Mila of Rockledge for soliciting the parent of a minor child for the purposes of having sexual relations with the child, according to Major Tod Goodyear of the Brevard County Sheriff's Office.
Agents with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Sexual Offender registration and Tracking (SORT) Unit have arrested 50-year-old Joseph Mila of Rockledge for soliciting the parent of a minor child for the purposes of having sexual relations with the child, according to Major Tod Goodyear of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Agents with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Sexual Offender registration and Tracking (SORT) Unit have arrested 50-year-old Joseph Mila of Rockledge for soliciting the parent of a minor child for the purposes of having sexual relations with the child, according to Major Tod Goodyear of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

Mila was charged with Computer Solicitation of a Parent or Guardian of a minor for sex, and was transported to the Brevard County Jail where he posted a $35,000 bond, according to BCSO.

The investigation began on Friday, June 5 after Mila began communicating via the Internet with an undercover agent who was posing as the parent of a 13-year-old child.

Mila originally responded to an online posting and as the communication continued, Mila advised that he wished to meet with the agent for the purpose of having a sexual relationship with the agent’s fictitious child.

A meeting was arranged at a prearranged location in Brevard County and Mila was arrested after traveling from his residence in Rockledge to the location later that afternoon.
