BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The City of Palm Bay is hosting a prayer vigil on Monday at 7 p.m. for the victims, survivors, family members and the community suffering from a shooting that killed nine people last Wednesday in a Charleston, South Carolina church.
The vigil is planned for Monday, June 22 from 7-8 p.m. at Palm Bay City Hall, located at 120 Malabar Road SE.
Deputy Mayor Harry Santiago will lead the vigil along with Council Member Michele Paccione and several local area pastors.
The vigil is open to the public and those interested in attending are encouraged to bring chairs and either flashlights or cell phones instead of candles.

“We really need to do something like this to bring our community together,” Council Member Paccione said.
“This was a terrible tragedy that has touched all of us. The right thing to do is to come together so we all can heal. We cannot let evil take hold of our communities.”
Water will be provided during the event which will be in the courtyard area of the City Hall complex.
