Florida House Speaker Steve Crisafulli endorsed Representative Tom Goodson to succeed him in the 2016 election for House District 51.

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA — Florida House Speaker Steve Crisafulli endorsed Representative Tom Goodson to succeed him in the 2016 election for House District 51.

Goodson is a longtime Brevard County resident and businessman who was first elected to the Florida House in 2010.

“Tom has distinguished himself as a conservative and jobs leader during his service in the Florida House,” said Crisafulli.

“I can say without hesitation that Tom Goodson is well-suited to represent the communities of House District 51 that I have been so honored to serve.”

After the 2012 redistricting, Goodson moved to Titusville to continue to represent north Brevard constituents in newly numbered House District 50.

In April 2015, Goodson filed to seek reelection in District 51, currently held by Speaker Crisafulli, who is serving his final term in the Florida House.

At that time, Goodson stated he would remain a resident of District 50 until the end of his current term, which concludes on November 8, 2016.

“I value and appreciate Speaker Crisafulli’s endorsement. He has been an outstanding leader for Florida,” said Goodson.

“As a longtime Brevard County resident, businessman, and public servant I have known many of the people in District 51 for decades. I will work hard to earn their vote.”

Prior to being elected to the Florida House of Representatives, Goodson served as a Canaveral Port Authority Commissioner.
