Eastern Florida Women’s Soccer Signee Shines For Jamaica

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida women’s soccer signee Khadija (Bunny) Shaw, a freshman midfielder and forward from Spanish Town, Jamaica, scored three goals to lead her country to a 5-0 U20 World Cup qualifier victory over Grenada.

Shaw scored in the 47th, 57th and 90+ minutes on Sunday. Jamaica wraps up 2015 Caribbean Football Union U20 Qualifying Group 2 play against host St. Lucia on Thursday.

“I have been working hard and I am just happy that I got the result,” team captain Shaw told the Jamaica Observer. “I am not 100 per cent but I am happy for the goals.”

The 2015 CONCACAF Women’s U-20 Championship will be held in Honduras, Dec. 3-13.

This fall term Shaw will join previous EFSC signees forward Astiazaran Colina of Spain; right back and center midfielder Bethan Louise Jones of Kings Lynn, Norfolk, England; Julia Hernandez, a forward and attacking midfielder from Madrid, Spain; Bethany Louise Cooper, a striker from Broadstairs (Thanet) England; and Annie Power, a forward/wing from Nottinghamshire, England.
