New Director of Operations Appointed For the Children’s Hunger Project

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE FLORIDA – Alice Healey has been appointed Director of Operations of The Children’s Hunger Project.

Ms. Healey, a central Florida native, comes to the charity with a strong background in business management and a well-known involvement with Brevard County charities.

Ms. Healey serves on the boards of three local charities. Her community service includes being 2012 Volunteer of the year and a Nominee for the Women in Excellence Award from the Melbourne Chamber of Commerce. Her efforts have also benefitted the Police Foundation of Melbourne and Junior Achievement.

As Director of Operations, Ms. Healey, will work with the Executive Director in all aspects of the charity with particular emphasis on dealing with the Brevard School District and the three dozen elementary schools that are part of The Children’s Hunger Project program.

The Children’s Hunger Project provides packages of food each Friday to Brevard County elementary school age children who are undernourished and coming to school hungry on Monday mornings.

The food packages empower children to have some nutrition for the weekend, no matter the family circumstances.
