EFSC Soccer Players Astiazaran, Koffi Earn Student-Athlete of Week Honors

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Soccer players Paula Astiazaran and Yannick Koffi are Eastern Florida State College’s Student-Athletes of the Week for the week ending Aug. 30.

Astiazaran, a freshman midfielder from San Sebastian, Spain and Summa Aldapeta, scored two goals as the No. 3 nationally ranked Eastern Florida women opened their season with a 3-0 home field victory over Andrew College of Georgia on Saturday.

Koffi, a sophomore striker from Lewisville, Texas and Northeast Texas Community College, scored two goals as the No. 4 nationally ranked Eastern Florida men opened their season with a 3-2 overtime victory over No. 11 Essex County College of Maryland and a 2-2 double overtime draw with No. 2 Monroe College of New York on Saturday and Sunday in Maryland.
