Melbourne’s Animal Medical Clinic Expands To Indialantic, Grows Staff

BREVARD COUNTY • INDIALANTIC, FLORIDA – Animal Medical Clinic, Brevard’s largest veterinary practice is expanding into a new location in Indialantic.

The practice announces the purchase of Indialantic Veterinary Hospital, now formally known as Animal Medical Clinic Indialantic.

The practice was purchased from Patricia Shockency, DVM, who has spent the past 13 years serving the Indialantic community.

The new facility is located at 307 4th Avenue in Indialantic, and will undergo nearly $100,000 in updates including cosmetic and structural improvements.

“For more than 50 years, Animal Medical Clinic has been a trusted veterinary services to pets in the greater Melbourne area,” said Michael Thomson, DMV, a veterinarian who will be moving from the Melbourne location.

“We’re pleased to bring our expertise and compassion to the South Brevard beach community out of such a wonderful location.”

Marcia Craig, DVM, and Stephanie Carraway, DVM, will join the team practicing at both Melbourne and Indialantic locations on a rotating schedule. Animal Medical Clinic Indialantic will be offering a wide range of treatments for pets including holistic medicine, general medicine and minor surgeries.

Along with the expansion to the new location, the practice is growing with new providers including Spielman, DVM, who graduated from University of Florida, and Daniel Loper, DVM, who graduated from University of Illinois.

Founded in 1964, Animal Medical Clinic operates a full-service, American Animal Hospital Association-accredited veterinary practice and hospital.

The practice staff includes 10 veterinarians who offer full-service veterinary care including annual preventive care visits, surgery, advanced diagnostics and lab testing, dental care, acupuncture and boarding.

In 2013, the practice earned the certification as the first “cat-friendly practice” in Brevard County from the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP).
