NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Wet weather continues across Central Florida today as deep moisture continues to wrap around an area of low pressure moving across North Central Florida this morning.

While the heaviest rainfall will remain across West Florida, we will see the moderate rain continuing to spread across East Central Florida late this morning and afternoon.

Additional storm development will occur later today with some daytime heating despite the extensive cloud cover.

The east coast sea breeze is also expected to develop along the Brevard and Treasure Coasts, which may enhance afternoon activity as it moves quickly to the coast.

Storm motion remains quick, off to the north-northeast at 20 to 25 mph so gusty winds of 40 to 50 mph remain possible. Locally heavy rainfall will also be a concern with standing water and minor flooding of low lying areas possible.
