Sheriff’s Office Identifies Victim In Tuesday’s Fatal Shooting On Venus Drive

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has identified 28-year-old George Dewey of Cocoa as the victim from the fatal shooting incident that occurred Tuesday evening in Cocoa. 

Dewey died at the scene from injuries sustained during the shooting.

According to Maj. Tod Goodyear of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Department, the investigation has revealed that a disagreement between Dewey and another individual escalated into a violent encounter that occurred on Venus Drive in Cocoa.

During the encounter, the Dewey, and at least one other individual who is not being identified at this time, exchanged gunfire.

No arrests have been made at this time and Homicide agents and Crime Scene investigators are continuing to conduct interviews and evaluate evidence.
