BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – The Titusville police are seeking Dean Maurice Caton, 18, of 1890 Old Dixie Highway in Titusville in connection with a series of vehicle burglaries in Hickory Hills.

On Tuesday, an Arrest Warrant for three counts of Burglary to an Unoccupied Conveyance and one count of Petit Theft was issued on Caton, according to Amy Matthews, Titusville Police Department Public Affairs Coordinator.

The neighborhood of Hickory Hills, located in south Titusville, has recently become victim to several vehicle burglaries and Detectives released the below surveillance video of the suspects captured in the act of the crime, and asked for the public’s help in identifying the them.

“Our detectives received significant cooperation from our community and tips have been coming into investigators since the video was released,” said Matthews in a release.

Titusville Police Investigate Series of Vehicle Burglaries In Hickory Hills

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – The Titusville Police Department is investigating a recent string of vehicle burglaries in the Hickory Hills neighborhood in Titusville. 

Two surveillance videos show what appears to be three juveniles entering two unlocked vehicles and stealing items from them, according to Amy Matthews of the Titusville Police Department.

A third vehicle on the surveillance video reveals that the thieves do not enter because it is locked, according to Matthews.

Police are urging residents to always lock their vehicles, garages, sheds and houses.

A staggering 85% of burglaries are committed upon vehicles that are not locked.

“We could virtually stop all vehicle burglaries if we just took a little more time to make it more difficult for these opportunistic thieves,” said Titusville Police Chief John Lau.
