An 81-year old Rockledge man was killed in a vehicle crash on State Road 520 near the State Road 528 exit at about 8:25 a.m. on Wednesday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Wille Parks, 81, of Rockledge was killed in a vehicle crash on State Road 520 near the State Road 528 exit at about 8:25 a.m. on Wednesday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Parks was a passenger in a Nissan SUV driven by Kimberly Thomas, 34, also of Rockledge.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the Nissan SUV was traveling northbound on SR 520 when Thomas attempted to turn on westbound SR 528 and turned directly into the path of a 2012 Chevrolet 4-door sedan driven by Patrick Vanlandingham, 34, of Casselberry. The front of the Thomas’ SUV struck the right side of the sedan.

Parks was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center and pronounced dead, while Vanlandingham was also transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center in serious condition.

The crash remains under investigation and, according to FHP, charges are pending.
