BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – The Historic Cocoa Village Association announced that NAPA Auto Parts will join the Fall Central Florida Car Show as presenting sponsor.

Slated for Saturday, Sept 19, the fall presentation of the Central Florida Car Show is expected to host over 130 collectible and special interest autos proudly displayed by their owners on the streets of Cocoa Village at this participant-judged event.

The Show kicks off at 2 p.m., runs until 5 p.m., and admission is free to the public. Car show features will include awards in 13 classes, plus Mayor’s Choice and Best in Show. Activities include music, street vendors, the Beer Garden hosted by Dog & Bone British Pub, and the Cocoa Village Merchants will present the Mile Long Sidewalk Sale 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

About 5,000 of the NAPA stores nationwide are locally owned, including the three Brevard locations owned by lifelong Merritt Islanders Dan Dvorak and his family.

Dvorak grew up in the Cocoa Beach NAPA store, and after 17 years at the the Kennedy Space Center, took up the family business by buying the Cocoa store.

Last year Dvorak took over the store his parents ran for over 40 years, and this year he bought the Titusville store that’s been in operation since 1956.

“The Space Coast NAPA team is proud to be part of this fantastic event,” said Dvorak.

“As a locally-owned parts store we are eager to support the communities where we live and work. The Central Florida Car Show, in partnership with Historic Cocoa Village, seems like a good fit because we are car guys and gals and we enjoy spreading the word about how we can help other car enthusiasts.”

Today, 91 percent of do-it-yourself customers recognize the NAPA brand name.

The Spring and Fall Central Florida Car Shows have been growing exponentially of late and the participation of NAPA Auto Parts adds additional weight and credibility to what is becoming one of the premier cruise-in style shows in the region. Having NAPA and the Space Coast team as partners is very exciting!”

More than 85 years ago, the National Automotive Parts Association (NAPA) was created to meet America’s growing need for an effective auto-parts distribution system.
