TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA – During a meeting of Florida’s Cabinet, Governor Rick Scott recognized Kyle Rojas with the Governor’s Young Entrepreneur Award.

In 2014, Kyle started Barbaric Barbell in Tallahassee to provide powerlifting and weightlifting apparel for fitness competitors. Kyle served in the U.S. Marines from 2005-2010 and developed a dedication to fitness training that pushed him to start his own business.

While working full-time, Kyle and his wife launched the business with their savings and are now renowned by professional power-lifters across the nation.

Because of Kyle’s past military service, Barbaric Barbells also provides care packages for fellow veterans.

“I am thankful for Kyle’s brave service to our nation and support of fellow veterans. I am honored today to recognize his hard work as a young entrepreneur in Tallahassee, and it is exciting to see job creators like Kyle turn their passion into a successful business,” said Governor Scott.

“I look forward to seeing his business continue to succeed in Florida.”

“It is great to be recognized by Governor Scott for the hard work that my family and I have put into starting our own business, while juggling our family and careers,” said Kyle Rojas, Founder and Owner, Barbaric Barbell.

“We hope to see Barbaric Barbell continue to grow and gain a well-known reputation across the nation as a lifestyle brand for strength athletes. As a veteran, I am also thankful to the brave men and women who serve to protect our country, and hope to use our brand to continue to support our veterans in any way that we can.”
