BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Merritt Island Airport is currently closed after the report of a small private single engine plane mishap during a routine landing.

The plane reportedly flipped when the pilot ‘applied the brakes too hard upon landing,’ according to Brevard County Fire Rescue.

The two adult occupants on the plane were a husband and wife, they were transported to Cape Canaveral hospital with minor injuries, according to Brevard County Fire Rescue.
