BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Men’s soccer player Micah Smoak is the Eastern Florida State College Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sept. 13.

Smoak, a sophomore midfielder from Melbourne and Melbourne High, scored what proved to be the game-winning goal and added an assist as the Titans defeated Jefferson College 3-2 on Sept. 11.

The goal was Smoak’s second game-winner of the season, the first coming on a penalty kick in overtime in the season opener against Essex College.

Eastern Florida is 3-0-1 and ranked No. 2 in the nation.

The fortunes of Eastern Florida’s men’s soccer team swung back and forth on Friday but the Titans prevailed in the end.
