BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – At around 8:30 p.m. on September 3, numerous shots were fired at an apartment in the English Park Apartments in what is believed to be at this point a drive-by shooting, according to Melbourne Police Commander Dan Lynch.

There were no injuries and four individuals were arrested.

Melbourne Police Detectives were in an adjacent apartment complex on an unrelated investigation when they heard the shots being fired.

They quickly responded to the sounds of the gunshots. By the sound of the shots the Detectives believed a high caliber rifle was being discharged, according to Commander Lynch.

As the units were arriving in the area they spotted a 4-door sedan fleeing. The detectives stopped the vehicle and detained all the occupants.

The subsequent investigation revealed that the vehicle was involved in the shooting as an AK-47 assault rifle was seized as well as handgun.
