BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Traffic Homicide Investigators are currently attempting to identify the owner and/or driver of a vehicle involved in a hit and run crash that left a 30-year-old woman with serious injuries.

The crash occurred on the evening of September 16th at around 8 p.m. The vehicle was traveling east on Lake Drive when it struck a female who was walking with another female at the edge of the roadway.

The victim was hit from behind. The impact threw her approximately 30 ft. causing serious injuries including several broken bones and other internal injuries, according to Cocoa public information officer Yvonne Martinez.

The other female who witnessed the crash was not injured. She provided responding officers with a description of the vehicle which investigators confirmed was a black 2006-2010 model Hummer H3.

The vehicle should have damage to the right front corner.

“The car cannot be fixed without buying specific parts,” said Officer Ronnie McCarron.

“We are hoping that salvage yards or other dealerships may have sold parts or priced out a part for someone looking to repair this type of damage on this make and model of vehicle.”
